At the heart of our Walking Festival is a programme of guided walks for all ages and abilities.
In addition, below you will find a selection of walks that you can follow for yourself. These walks have been suggested by each of East Lothian’s six Area Partnerships.

East Lothian Countryside Volunteers has a fantastic resource of walks in the ‘Library’ section of its website, with links to numerous leaflets including their excellent ‘one-pagers’.

Scotways free maps and leaflets
Scotways, the Scottish Rights of Way & Access Society, has a number of maps and leaflets as free downloads, as well as guidebooks to purchase in its online shop.

Free to use and funded by donations, Walk Highlands is a great source for walking routes in East Lothian.

East Lothian Ramblers
The local Ramblers group, East Lothian Ramblers and Hillwalkers, are very active and arrange lots of group walks. Find them on Facebook.

Scottish Borders Walking Festival
Established in 1994 and hosted by a different town each year. In 2024 the festival took a break and supported the Walking and Wheeling Festival in Galashiels.
