East Lothian has many superb walking routes to offer: here are some good ways to find out about them.
East Lothian core paths leaflets
East Lothian Council’s area walks and core paths are described in these attractive and useful guides, with good maps.
ELCV walks library
East Lothian Countryside Volunteers has a fantastic resource of walks in the ‘Library’ section of its website. It includes all the Core Paths on an interactive map and it has links to numerous leaflets, including a series of useful ‘one-pagers’.
East Lothian Ramblers
The Ramblers has a local group, East Lothian Ramblers and Hillwalkers. They are very active and you can find them on Facebook.
Walk Highlands
Free to use and funded by donations, Walk Highlands is the best single source for walking routes in East Lothian.
Scotways free leaflets
Scotways, the Scottish Rights of Way & Access Society, has a number of interesting maps and leaflets available as free downloads, including an excellent guide to walks in the Lammermuirs concentrating on the historic hill roads.
It also has guidebooks available to purchase in its online shop, including the pocket guide Walks East Lothian, published by Hallewell.
