Longniddry loop
Preston, Seton and Gosford
Start / finish : Longniddry Bents
Length : 5 km / 3 miles
Easy walk with no hills, mostly on pavements but with a stretch of sandy path
The route starts at Longniddry Bents No 3 car park, travelling westwards along the John Muir Way. At No 1 car park, cross the busy coast road to take the path along Longniddry Dean.
The route leaves the wooded path and winds through Longniddry’s streets, lanes and parks before emerging on the main A198 road back to the coast.
Facilities
Refreshments are available in Longniddry (slightly off the route) and from kiosks in the Longniddry Bents No 2 and No 3 car parks.
Public toilets are not open on this route.
Walkability
Mostly pavements, but the John Muir Way along the coast is sandy and uneven.

East Coast buses 124 and X5 stop at Longniddry Bents – see website for details.
It is also possible to take the train to Longniddry station and walk along the A198 (Lyars Road) to the coast to start the walk.
