A slow circular walk of Lochend Woods to gather nettle stems to make your own cordage

With:  Wilder Outdoor Education

Join Diane of Wilder Outdoor Education for a slow circular walk through the woodland to explore the colours, smells and sounds of a late summer morning in the woods. Enjoy some mindful crafting, harvesting nettle stems to make your own natural cordage.

More information

Age 16+. Attendees should be comfortable to walk over uneven ground and be happy to sit on the woodland floor (kneeling/sit pad provided). Attendees are welcome to bring their own camping chair if preferred. Refreshments provided.

Well behaved dogs are allowed. Must be on lead at all times. Do not bring your dog if it has a high drive as there are quite a number of deer in the woodland.

There will be a basic pop up toilet tent available for your use and handwashing facilities.

Cafe at Dunbar Garden Centre (10 minute walk away) or at Bleachingfield Community Centre (Ramshackle Cafe).

The Gathering Space in Lochend Woods is near the corner of Middlemass Road and Kellie Road, Dunbar.

What to bring:

Tea/coffee and cake will be provided. Feel free to bring a water bottle/snacks. Bring a packed lunch if you’d like to spend more time in the woods after the event.
