Wander through the woods on this 10 km (6 miles) circular walk

Meet Up and Walk group invite you to join them for an easy walk of 10 km (6 miles) along woodland trails, farm tracks and quiet roads around Boggs Holdings.
The route begins at the village hall at Boggs Holdings, Pencaitland and travels through woods to Penston before carrying on to the village of Gladsmuir. From there you will enter the Woodland Trust’s Butterdean Wood, a great example of regenerating woodland, and an opportunity to spot wildlife both real and sculptural!
The walk then returns to Boggs Holdings to finish.
Please make sure you wear comfortable and appropriate footwear as the paths can get muddy. And be prepared for the Scottish weather with waterproofs, sunscreen and insect repellant!
Bring a snack and drink with you as there is no opportunity to get anything on the route.
The group is limited to 12 people so make sure you reserve your place.

Places are free, but please book in advance through our ticketing website.
We allow up to 4 well-behaved dogs kept on the lead (1 dog per person). Please make sure you select the appropriate ticket when booking.
Meet Up and Walk
The Meet Up and Walk group are delivering a number of walks for the Festival. As a group, they offer opportunities for people who like to walk, to meet up and go for a walk on the same basis as meeting a group of friends. Check out their Facebook group to find out more about them.
