About Walkfest

Walkfest, the East Lothian Festival of Walking and Wheeling, is a community-based initiative. Its main aim is encouraging people across East Lothian to be more active, benefitting their physical, mental and social health.

With support from the Health and Wellbeing groups of East Lothian’s six Area Partnerships, as well as a number of other community organisations, Walkfest has brought together a full and varied programme of walks, wheels and events.

Our commitment to reducing barriers to participation has resulted in all of our bookable events being free of charge, with the majority easily reached by public transport.

We have endeavoured to ensure that many of our promoted routes are step-free and are proud to deliver the first Wheely Good Day Out! where people with impaired mobility can access and connect with the countryside.

Our thanks to ...

We are grateful to our funders, the North Berwick Coastal Area Partnership, the Haddington and Lammermuir Area Partnership and the Musselburgh Area Partnership for their direct support.

We would also like to thank our partner organisations for all that they have done to make this Festival happen.

And a huge thank you to all who volunteer to help others share and enjoy all that our beautiful county has to offer.
