RNIB Welcome Walk
Musselburgh
A short walk around Musselburgh with the RNIB
Date: Thursday August 27, 2026
Time: 10.15am to 11am
Meet: Fisherrow harbour, Musselburgh
With: RNIB
Starting at Fisherrow harbour, this is a gentle, flat walk on tarmac paths. We will walk about one kilometre (just over half a mile) from the harbour, along the coastal path, over the footbridge across the River Esk and on into Musselburgh High Street for a visit to a local cafe.
If you are stilling feeling fit, there is the option to walk back to the harbour, or return using a local bus.
The walk will take between 30 and 40 mins each way.
Please contact Shona at shona.black@rnib.org.uk to book your place.
More information
The RNIB offers Welcome Walks in East Lothian for members of the blind and partially sighted community who may feel socially isolated or in need of a confidence boost. Welcome Walks are led by a Walking Scotland trained walk leader and supported by RNIB volunteers. These walks encourage people living with sight loss to get outdoors, take some exercise and enjoy spending time with other people.
The social aspect of these walks is as important as the physical benefits so we make sure all our walks end in a cafe!
If you are living with sight loss, or know someone who is, or would like to volunteer with us, please get in touch – we would love to hear from you.
Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
Assistance dogs are very welcome on this walk.
All ages welcome.
No toilet facilities at the start of the walk.
The walk will end in a local cafe for a cuppa and a chance to carry on chatting.
What to bring
Waterproofs – we walk whatever the weather!
