Family woodland walk and picnic

Dirleton, Yellowcraig

A picnic walk for all the family around Yellowcraig woods

Date : Sunday September 1st

Time : 12 noon

Meet : Dirleton Kirk Hall

With : Outdoor Adventurers

An easy 4.2 km (2.6 miles) round trip using well maintained paths in the wonderful Yellowcraig woods. This walk is something for the whole family to enjoy together.

Join Amber Roome, outdoor learning leader, as she takes you on a slow paced walk from Dirleton Kirk Hall, along the John Muir Way and into the beautiful mixed woodlands at Yellowcraig.

Once there, a picnic site will be set up with hammocks, slacking, swings and nature crafts. Perhaps you’d like to try your hand at identifying some of the trees and ground cover plants!

We will finish about 3 pm.

Don’t forget to bring your picnic and picnic blanket!

Please make sure you have suitable footwear as, although the paths are good, they are not paved. Also, remember this is Scotland, so bring waterproofs, a warm layers and sunscreen!

There are public toilets at Dirleton and Yellowcraig.
