BAT WALK – a fun and educational experience for young people to explore the world of bats at night.
You’ll learn about their fascinating lives, how they navigate using echolocation, and what they eat. Using special bat detectors, you can listen for their calls and even try to identify different species!
Rounded off with a cup of hot chocolate and biscuits.
What to bring
It can get chilly at night so wrap up in cosy clothing, sturdy footwear that may get dirty and a waterproof jacket.
If you have your own torch then do bring that along.
More information
This walk is suitable for young people aged 11 to 18.
Please note, we will be navigating terrain in the dark. We will start the session with a brief chat about keeping safe. If your child is not able to follow requests regarding safety, putting themselves, or others at risk, you may be contacted to collect them. We will be near a body of water and in woodland so ability to follow instruction will be paramount.
When you book, there is a link to an online consent and emergency contact form that must be completed before participants can join the walk.
